A ‘Sandman’ series is Coming to Netflix

After numerous attempts dating back to the 1990s, Neil Gaiman’s iconic Sandman series is finally coming to the screen, the small screen that is, as Netflix has struck a deal to turn the popular comic into a live-action television series, allegedly one of the most expensive deals ever struck. Previous attempts have tried to adapt the Sandman story as a feature film or a series of feature films, but I believe this is the first attempt to bring the story to television.

Further details are scarce since the deal is not finalized, but it will be very interesting to see how Netflix adapts the story of Morpheus, the Lord of Dreams and his fellow Endless, including Destiny, Death, Destruction, Despair, Desire and Delirium.

It’s far too soon to even guess what a possible release date for this series would be, but it’s not an exaggeration to say that this will be one of the most anticipated series that Netflix has produced to date.
