Jessica Jones Gets Season 2 Order as Marvel Contemplates a Punisher Series

During the Television Critic’s Association press tour today, Netflix was on hand to talk up some of their upcoming original series (giving release dates for Orange is The New Black among others).  While there, they also confirmed that Jessica Jones, which debuted a few months ago, will officially be back for a second season.  It’ll comprise of 13 episodes, bringing Krysten Ritter and showrunner Melissa Rosenberg back for more.

On top of this, yesterday came the rumor that Marvel was so happy with Jon Bernthal’s portrayal of Frank Castle (aka, The Punisher) in Daredevil Season 2 they are considering giving him his own Netflix series, along with the forthcoming Luke Cage and Iron Fist.  TV Line got the scoop on this one claiming that it’s in the works, though details at the moment are scarce.

Netflix isn’t saying much of anything, and even commented on the rumor this morning while talking about Jessica Jones season 2, saying they’re just focusing on the ones they’ve announced for now.  That would include The Defenders show as well, so perhaps they want to wait and see how Punisher plays with fans in a couple months, before pulling the trigger on a full series.  Guess we’ll just have to wait and see how that plays out, but in the mean time, we can look forward to more Jessica Jones!

Would you guys like to see a Punisher Netflix series?
