Main Cast Announced for ‘Halo’ TV Series

The Halo TV series, based on the legendary Xbox video game series, has taken a giant step closer to production as the main cast has now been revealed by Showtime.

Showtime had already announced that Pablo Schreiber would be playing Master Chief. Now, it has been revealed that Natascha McElhone, Bokeem Woodbine, Shabana Azmi, Bentley Kalu, Natasha Culzac, and Kate Kennedy have all landed roles in the series.

McElhone will be playing a dual role as Dr. Catherine Halsey, creator of the Spartan supersoldiers, and will also be playing the A.I. Cortana. Bokeem Woodbine will be playing a character named Soren-066, who is an old friend of Master Chief, while Shabana Azmi will be playing Admiral Margaret Parangosky, head of the Office of Naval Intelligence.

While those are all characters known to fans of the Halo video games, the rest of the announced cast will be playing all new characters. Bentley Kalu is playing Spartan Vannak-134, Master Chief’s deputy, Natasha Culzac is playing Spartan Riz-028, an assassin, and Kate Kennedy will be playing Spartan Kai-125.

Showtime’s Halo series is currently preparing for production.
