Netflix Adds Castlevania Series to 2017 Slate

In completely out of left field news, Netflix non-chalantly announced a Castlevania tv series coming later this year.  The “big” reveal was made during an event where Netflix was unveiling their 2017 slate of shows.  With much pomp and circumstance, the announcement read like this.

Castlevania Season 1, Part 1 Coming to Netflix in 2017

As you can see, the streaming service couldn’t wait to go into more detail about the series based on a 30 year-old video game.  Joking aside, they were kind enough to share this brief description of the show and who all would be part of creating this exciting series.

“Inspired by the classic video game series, Castlevania is a dark medieval fantasy following the last surviving member of the disgraced Belmont clan, trying to save Eastern Europe from extinction at the hand of Vlad Dracula Tepe himself, The animated series is from Frederator Studios, a Wow Unlimited Media company, written by best-selling author and comic book icon Warren Ellis and executive produced by Warren Ellis, Kevin Kolde, Fred Seibert and Adi Shankar.”

The first season of Castlevania will debut in its entirety later on this year on Netflix.
