At long last, anime fans can breath a sigh of relief. Toei Animation has announced, via their official Twitter, that new episodes of One Piece and Digimon Adventure are set to air next Sunday, June 28, 2020.
Back in April, Toei Animation suspended the release of new One Piece and Digimon Adventure due to COVID-19 spreading across Japan. Since then, conditions have improved (albeit slightly) enough for the anime giant to finally resume airing new episodes in Japan. These episodes will also be simulcast on anime streaming services like Crunchyroll and Funimation for countries outside of Japan.
For One Piece fans, this is amazing news as it means the series can finally progress the Wano arc with the release of episode #930. Conversely, the Digimon Adventure series was just getting started. So, the wait may not have been as painstaking for their fans. New episodes of Digimon Adventure will resume from episode #4.
The overall takeaway from this is that Anime is Back! For how long, no one knows, but we should all relish and enjoy these new episodes starting next Sunday, June 28, 2020.
