SDCC 2018 – Alice Eve to Play Typhoid Mary in Iron Fist Season 2; Premiere Date Revealed

During Marvel‘s Iron Fist Season 2 panel at San Diego Comic Con, Jeph Loeb took a moment to introduce Alice Eve and reveal her highly-anticipated role.  Few of us couldn’t have guessed the name that would be uttered from Loeb’s lips, Typhoid Mary.  If you’re unfamiliar with the character, she’s one of Daredevil‘s most formidable enemies and her synopsis (courtesy of Marvel wiki) explains why…

Suffering from dissociative identity disorder, Mary Walker has 3 other abnormal personalities in addition to her seemingly healthy one. Her “Mary” personality is a timid, quiet, pacifist; her “Typhoid” personality is adventurous, lustful, and violent; and her “Bloody Mary” persona is brutal, sadistic, and hates all men. Aside from highly developed martial arts skills, Walker also possesses telekinetic powers and, more dangerously, pyrokinesis, the ability to set people or objects in her immediate vicinity aflame.

For Eve, playing Typhoid Mary could be a great test of range, as she’ll have to take on not 1, not 2, but 3 very distinct personalities.  Despite Eve’s tremendous acting ability, there haven’t been many roles, of hers, that have tested her like Typhoid Mary could, so it’ll definitely be fun to watch.

As for Iron Fist Season 2, itself, the Netflix series will debut on September 7, 2018.  If you’re one of the few that isn’t sold on the series, based on Season 1, take a look at the reaction our team at SDCC 2018 had when they saw footage!
