Ever since Warner Bros. and DC made it known that a streaming service was in development, we’ve seen updates in the form new shows, a title, and even a layout configuration, but the only thing we hadn’t yet learned was the price. Thankfully, that’s where SDCC 2018 comes in. As DC continues to make the annual convention their’s, they’ve announced what the monthly and annual prices will be, also a pretty cool giveaway they’re doing for it.
The official monthly price for DC Universe will be $7.99, and that will include access to tons of comics, original shows like TITANS, Metropolis, Young Justice: Outsiders, James Wan’s Swamp Thing, and other DC Animated and Live Action content. If you’re looking for value, DC is offering an annual plan for $74.99, saving an average of $21.
There are benefits to pre-ordering now for DC Universe, the first being getting 3 additional months free, the second being entered to win 2 tickets to the premiere of Aquaman this December! All you have to do, is pre-order by Sunday, July 22 at 5pm PT and you’re entered into the drawing.
When considering the price of Netflix, Hulu, and even Amazon Prime, DC Universe’s $7.99 monthly price is extremely affordable. Plus, you get the added benefit of being able to download comics, the same way Netflix lets you download shows/movies, so you can read on the go without an internet connection. There isn’t any word yet on if there will be commercials during each show and, if so, if there will be a subscription to avoid commercials.
DC Universe will release August 2018!
