Season 2 of ‘Altered Carbon’ to Premiere on Netflix in February

Netflix has finally revealed that season 2 of Altered Carbon will be premiering in the US next month!

Season 1 of Altered Carbon, based on Richard K. Morgan’s novel of the same name, premiered on Netflix in 2018, and for a long time afterward nothing was heard regarding a second season. Even when the season was renewed, it still wasn’t clear when the second season would be arriving. Now it has finally been announced that season 2 of Altered Carbon will arrive on Netflix beginning on February 27, 2020.

Yesterday Netflix released an extremely short teaser trailer that revealed the premiere date of season 2 of Altered Carbon:

Of the main cast, Renee Elise Goldsberry and Chris Conner are returning to reprise their roles of Quellcrist Falconer and Edgar Poe respectively. Anthony Mackie will be taking over the lead role of Takeshi Kovacs from Joel Kinnaman. This works because one of the plot points of Altered Carbon is that people can be ‘resleeved’ into new bodies that look different, but it’s the same person on the inside.

Altered Carbon continues to delve into the themes of identity, mortality, and the human soul across longer periods of times and different worlds throughout the universe.

The main cast for season 2 will be rounded out by Simone Missick, Dina Shihabi, Torben Liebrecht, James Saito, and Lela Loren. All episodes of season 2 will be available on Netflix starting on February 27, 2020.
