Stallone Wants a Rambo TV Series

Is Rambo coming to TV? Sylvester Stallone is trying to develop a weekly series based on his John Rambo character, who originally appeared in First Blood (1982) and its three sequels, Rambo: First Blood Part 2 (1985), Rambo 3 (1988) and Rambo (2008). The first movie was based on a David Morrell novel. Stallone says that he would not reprise the role of his Green Beret action hero in the series but would be involved in a creative capacity.

Stallone is working with Entertainment One, which has completed a co-development deal with Avi Lerner and Nu Image to produce a TV series based on the hit film franchise. If the series is Green Lit, it would be Stallone’s first time producing a scripted action TV series, marking a change in his career trajectory, after being a movie star/director for so long.

As for his big-screen work, Stallone is working on Expendables 3 and a new Rocky film called Creed.
