Star Wars TV Series Still in Talks at ABC

Since Disney purchased the rights to the Star Wars franchise, they have worked hard to put as much content out as possible, much to the enjoyment of fans old and new.  Star Wars Rebels is arguably one of the most popular shows on Disney XD, Star Wars: The Force Awakens grossed over 2 billion dollars, and that should continue to rise with the additions of more movies like Episode VIII, Han Solo, Boba Fett, and the upcoming Rogue One Story.

ABC, being owned by Disney, has been rumored to have a Star Wars series in the works.  During a panel at TCA, when asked if it was still in ABC’s plans ABC Entertainment President Channing Dungey reiterated,

“As a fan, I would absolutely love to say yes, We have had conversations, and we will continue to have conversations with Lucasfilm. It would be wonderful to extend the franchise.”

It’s not much but it’s more confirmation that the project isn’t entirely dead.  Perhaps, they’re trying to figure out a story that would go hand-in-hand with the movies, much like Agents of Shield.
