The Flash has always been one of the more popular and well-known DC characters. There has already been a Flash TV series, and now a new one is in the early stages of development. The planned Flash series is being spun-off from the series Arrow. The Flash’s introductory episode sees the Arrow partnering with Central City forensic police scientist Barry Allen when a new case reminds Oliver of something from his time stranded on the island.
The synopsis: A seemingly impossible robbery at Queen Consolidated’s Applied Sciences Division brings Central City police scientist Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) to town. Citing a similar case back home, Barry offers to help Oliver (Stephen Amell) and his team with the investigation. Oliver senses there is more to Barry than meets the eye, but he’s distracted by the similarities between this current case and something that happened on the island. Meanwhile, Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) takes a liking to Barry, which doesn’t go unnoticed by Oliver. Sin (Bex Taylor-Klaus) asks Roy (Colton Haynes) for help when a friend of hers goes missing. Roy is surprised when Thea (Willa Holland) not only encourages him to help, but joins the search. Unfortunately, Sin’s friend is connected to Brother Blood (Kevin Alejandro), and their search ultimately gets one of them seriously injured.
Grant Gustin, who will play the Flash/Barry, will appear in two episodes of Arrow in the mid-season, returning in 2014 for the 20th episode of season 2, which will be the springboard for the spin-off.
