The Mandalorian Season 2 Confirmed for Fall 2020 Release

The Mandalorian showrunner Jon Favreau has shared an eye-popping new character from the set of the show’s second season, while confirming it’s release window.

The season finale for The Mandalorian arrived earlier today on Disney+ ending the season on a (ridiculously) high note. The main question many fans have on their minds now is when do we get to see the second season? We know they’ve been filming for a little bit now, but today Jon Favreau took to his social channels to confirm we’ll see Season 2 this upcoming Fall.

Many of us suspected a Fall 2020 launch window (I wouldn’t be surprised if it retained a November release date too), as it lines up with the first season’s production schedule. They both started filming around the same time in the year, so it makes sense they’d release around the same time as well.

More so, Favreau used the announcement to reveal a new character we’ll be seeing in some capacity:

Welp, that’s certainly a different looking Gamorrean than we’ve seen in Star Wars before. It’s cool to see a familiar alien popping up once again in live-action, especially in a different way. There’s no telling what role this creature will play in the show (regular appearing character or someone in the background), but it’s neat to see nonetheless. If I were a guessing man, I’d say based on the attire and overall look, it seems this is some sort of Galdiator.

Considering how amazing that finale was, the wait for The Mandalorian season 2 already seems interminable. At least we’ll have some new toys early in the New Year to keep us occupied!
