It looks like the Marvel Universe is about to grow in a big way on Disney+ as three separate series are teased in a Super Bowl ad.
It’s been well known that a number of Marvel series are coming to Disney+ in the near future. But now, for the first time, we’ve gotten a clear look at no less than three of them, as a short Super Bowl ad has revealed a peek at WandaVision, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Loki.
Most of the footage is dedicated to WandaVision and Falcon and the Winter Soldier. For the latter, we see Sam (Falcon), seemingly practicing with Captain America’s shield (which was bequeathed to him at the end of Avengers: Endgame). We also see Bucky engaged in what are likely espionage activities, though with whom isn’t quite made clear (though there is a glimpse of Baron Zemo). There’s also a quick glimpse of U.S. Agent viewed from the back (the one who looks like he’s wearing Captain America’s gear). Just this short teaser alone promises a story full of action and intrigue.
The really interesting footage belongs to WandaVision, which is quickly shaping up to be one of the most mind-blowing entries in the expanded MCU to date. As we’ve heard, the overall format appears to mimic a black and white sitcom with Vision alive once more, but there are some…quirks in reality that make it clear this is all Wanda’s creation as the images flash between multiple worlds (with a blink and you’ll miss it glimpse of the classic Scarlet Witch costume straight out of the comic books). This series honestly looks amazing just from this brief glimpse alone and it will be interesting to see the direction the story takes and how it connects to the larger MCU.
And finally, a rather unexpected move was a brief teaser of Loki. This is very interesting since reports indicate that Loki only recently started filming, so it’s curious that they would visually tease the series so soon. Of course this “teaser” only consists of Loki in some type of prison uniform promising to burn the place he’s being held in to the ground. It’s just enough detail to whet the appetite because instantly you want to know when this is happening and where is Loki being held? Is this post-Avengers: Endgame or is this during a different time?
All in all, Disney really knocked it out of the park with this teaser as the hype train is moving full steam ahead on all three series.
Falcon and the Winter Soldier and WandaVision are believed to be arriving on Disney+ later in 2020 while Loki’s release window is currently unknown.
