What’s Coming Up on Once Upon a Time?

The winter premier of Once Upon a Time brought villains Captain Hook and the evil Cora to Storybrook. What will happen now that these two new villains have been added to the mix of the already volatile Maine town? Last year’s central villain Regina is hovering between the darkness and redemption, while the cunning Rumplestiltskin is still plotting away. What’s next for our story book heroes and villains? The show’s producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis have given eager fans a few hints about what we’ll see next. Or won’t see.
We’re going to see more of Cora’s background. Rose McGowan has signed on to play a young Cora. (Older Cora is played by Barbara Hershey) We’re going to find out what made her so evil and we’ll see that maybe she wasn’t always so bad.
The characters will expand outside of the town limits of Storybrook this year.
Despite visits to Wonderland and Neverland, don’t expect appearances by Alice or Peter Pan. Not this year, anyway.
Cora and Captain Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) will cause chaos in Storybrooke. And since they’re not part of the curse, they can leave town whenever they want (Although soon they won’t be the only ones.)
Cora continues to manipulate her daughter Regina (Lana Parrilla,) who is trying hard to go straight for son Henry (Jared Gilmore), but is being drawn back to the dark-side by her mother’s machinations. Will Regina redeem herself or go back to her former sinister ways?
Captain Hook will be looking for revenge against Rumplestiltskin (Robert Carlyle) and will use Belle (Emilie De Ravin) to his advantage.
Although characters will be stepping out of Storybrook this year, magic ends at the town line, which makes Mr. Gold/Rumplestiltskin (Robert Catlyle) vulnerable to his enemy.
Archie Hopper (Raphael Sbarge) will be interrogated by Hook and Cora because he knows the deepest secrets of the residents of Storybrook, but he clings to his professional client-doctor confidentiality. Will he break?
Emma (Jennifer Morrison) is going to continue to discover her magical abilities and Rumplestiltskin is very interested in helping her develop them. The magic within Emma becomes something that’s very important to her on her journey of self-discovery this season. And it’s definitely something that interests Rumple/Gold, because Mr. Gold is never one to miss an opportunity.
