Whatever Christopher Nolan has planned for his next feature film, you can expect to see it on July 21, 2017 (as reported by Variety). And that’s about ALL the information we have so far on the flick. Nolan hasn’t publicly stated what he’s planning, but obviously WB knows enough to be willing to give it a prime Summer release spot.
The film will hit just a week after Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales and War of the Planet of the Apes, and a scant week ahead of Marvel/Sony’s next Spider-Man reboot. Luc Besson’s Valerian was slated to come out the same day, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see that get moved. In fact, I wouldn’t be terribly surprised to see a few movements around these dates considering how many big budget ones there are in this short span.
Again, we don’t know much of anything else…not even the genre this movie is expected to be. Will it be another sci-fi movie (God, I hope so), or something entirely different and new for the director. Time will tell, but with a release date set, hopefully details on the project will start to surface sooner rather than later.
