Warner Bros. Putting Man of Steel Sequel on the Fast-Track

The news is coming from Deadline, who got the word last night (sorry, had all that E3 coverage to post!) that the Man of Steel sequel was moving forward and that the Director/Screenwriter duo of Zack Snyder and David Goyer were already hired on to return.  Deadline also makes mention that Goyer is signed on for a 3-picture deal that includes Man of Steel, the sequel, and Justice League.  So I guess in a roundabout way, this is also confirming his involvement on the Justice League film (as has been rumored).

Chris Nolan is said to be taking more of a backseat this time around, since he’s busy with his own projects right now, but he’ll still be producing the film.  Judging by the way this sounds, and statements Snyder has made previously, it seems like we’ll be getting a Man of Steel 2 before Justice League.  If they’re fast-tracking a sequel, then normally, that means it’s the priority.

They’ve been saying that Justice League really depended on how successful Man of Steel is.  Perhaps now that good reviews are flowing, they want to step back and use the sequel to help establish the ‘shared’ world to set up Justice League to follow.  Guess we’ll just have to wait and see!
