Watch the New Nintendo Direct Live

Today, after roughly 17 months of waiting, Nintendo is giving us a brand new Nintendo Direct and you can watch it live right here!

It’s been a very long time since Nintendo hosted a mainline Nintendo Direct. To be exact, it’s been since September of 2019, before the gaming giant revealed any mainline titles coming to the Nintendo Switch.

With 2021 being the 35th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda, speculations are that part of the 50-minute Direct will focus on Zelda-related content. Whether that’s an update on Breath of the Wild 2 or a port of old titles onto Switch, like they did for Mario’s anniversary last year, remains to be seen. Although, for this Zelda fan, a Windwaker port on Switch would be incredible.

Then again, the Direct could focus on other games entirely. It could be that we’ll finally see an update on the Metroid game they indefinitely delayed, maybe a Donkey Kong game, or something else that will blow us away.

The one thing that is for certain is that there will be news for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate so look for possibly a new character or two.

The Nintendo Direct arrives at 2 p.m. PT/5 p.m. ET.
