ARK: Survival Evolved Drops a New Trailer for Gamescom

When I first got PR on ARK: Survival Evolved, I was instantly intrigued, and lamented that fact that it was currently only available for Steam users.  Thankfully that won’t always be the case, and Xbox One owners will get the chance to play it on their console later this year, ahead of it’s fully release on everything in June 2016.  So, yeah, I’ll still have to wait a little bit, but at least we got a swanky new trailer out of it:

Straight from the Microsoft Gamescom Press Conference in Cologne, Germany, Studio Wildcard announced that ARK: Survival Evolved will be part of the Xbox Preview Program this year and revealed an all-new trailer for the occasion. Packed with advanced gun battles, a never-seen-before snow biome, and a boss that would make Shelob shiver, this new ARK trailer shouldn’t be missed! Developed by Studio Wildcard, in conjunction with Instinct Games, ARK: Survival Evolved will hit full release in June 2016 on the Xbox One via the [email protected] program, PlayStation®4 with Project Morpheus support, and on Steam.

The most popular open-world Early Access game on Steam, ARK: Survival Evolved brings a new level of depth to the survival genre with a unique blend of emergent multiplayer cooperation and competition. Players awake naked and starving on the beach of a mysterious island among a herd of other confused humans and must explore the vast island of ARK to survive. What is the secret to survival?

The game is currently in Steam’s Early Access program and includes Oculus Rift VR support and an integration of Steam community features such as Steam Economy and Steam Workshop for custom maps and mods. Players can host private/LAN servers and have access to a custom-built version of the Unreal Engine 4 Editor for creating mods. The world of ARK is designed to be modder-friendly and ever-expanding!

Once again, I’m totally sold on this game, and feel the itch to play it.  Sadly, I don’t think my computer can make it work the way it’s supposed to, so I’m stuck waiting on the console versions…At least we know they’re coming!
