Become the Ape in FoxNext’s Crisis on the Planet of the Apes VR

The Planet of the Apes trilogy may have come to a close last year, but that doesn’t mean that Fox is done with the IP just yet.  FoxNext, a subsidiary of 20th Century Fox, has been working on a new VR game based on the Planet of the Apes film franchise.  What they’ve produced is a VR experience that puts you in the mind of one of the highly intellectual apes from the movies with a mission to save your fellow apes and fight your way out of the human compound, you’re being held captive in.

This is Crisis on the Planet of the Apes VR.

Crisis on the Planet of the Apes VR is set between the events of Rise and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. FoxNext hopes that their game will help bridge the gap between the two movies while providing a riveting experience for gamers.

“VR has always held the promise of bringing together the cinematic storytelling of film and the deeply immersive interactivity of games. Crisis on the Planet of the Apes VR takes this potential to the next level,” said Brendan Handler, SVP & GM, FoxNext VR Studio. “We set out to give the fan a lead role in this dark Planet of the Apes world – to feel the ape’s strength, power and movement as he fights his way to safety.”

Crisis on the Planet of the Apes VR arrives on Oculus Rift, Playstation VR, and HTC Vive on April 3, 2018 for just $14.99.
