If you haven’t picked up Street Fighter V yet, you may want to hold off a little bit longer. At the beginning of 2018, Capcom plans to release Street Figher V: Arcade Edition for Playstation 4 and PC for just $39.99. They even provided a trailer to announce the release!
Along with the main game of Street Fighter V, Arcade Edition will also include the following:
- Arcade Mode
- Extra Battle Mode
- New V-trigger moves
- New User Interface
- Season 1 DLC characters
- Season 2 DLC characters
Current owners of the game will still be able to download most of these additions for free with a new update, but the rest they’ll need to earn using the in-game currency Fight Money. Below are more details coming in the Arcade Edition:
In the upcoming Arcade Mode, players can reminisce in the Street Fighter series history as they celebrate the last 30 years of the multi-million selling franchise. Choose from six different paths and compete in matches against CPU opponents to reveal unique endings based on player performance. In Extra Battle Mode, a new series of time exclusive challenges will be available for players to use their Fight Money for the chance to receive an exclusive premium outfit each month. Complete all four challenges each month and receive a special premium costume exclusive to this mode. With extra challenges being added and more unannounced content on the way, Street Fighter V will continue to deliver new and refreshed content on a regular basis throughout 2018 and beyond. More details on the new modes and features, including the new User Interface, will be shared at a later date.
Capcom has also announced that Arcade Edition will allow for cross-platform gameplay between Playstation 4 gamers and PC Master Race users. This is a big step for Sony, as they have been pretty stingy with the idea of cross-platform gameplay.
Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition will release January 16, 2018 for $39.99 on Playstation 4 and PC only.
