Crimson Moon Brings Racing, New Enemies, and Characters to Starlink: Battle for Atlas

Ubisoft is giving you plenty of reasons to come back to Starlink next week...

Crimson Moon brings a WHOLE lot of new content to Starlink: Battle for Atlas for free next week and you can learn all about it here.

I love Starlink: Battle for Atlas and I tend to tell people this at every opportunity I get (and marked it’s release with the longest game review I’ve ever written). It’s a great game that didn’t quite get the attention I think it deserved. It arrived last October against other games like LEGO DC Super-Villains, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, and Red Dead Redemption. Coupled with the Toys-to-Life element that made many gamers think it was too “kiddie,” and it’s easy to see why it wasn’t the talk of the town.

Despite recently announcing that no more toys/accessories will be created for the game, that doesn’t mean Ubisoft is giving up and today they’re showing off the upcoming Crimson Moon update. The free add-on DLC will be adding tons of new elements to the game (including new characters) that look to add a lot more fun to the overall experience:

The new Crimson Moon content will also be included in the all-new Windows PC version of the game, releasing the same day, April 30, 2019. On PC, Starlink: Battle for Atlas will feature the same content as the console version and will support the Dualshock and Xbox One controller mounts, as well as digital play.

As part of the free update, players can explore the Crimson Moon, theater of the Outlaw Games. Players will be able to compete in all-new single-player and two-player split-screen racing tracks, fight waves of ruthless enemies in the Crimson Coliseum and see their rank and stats on leaderboards. The Crimson Moon will also impact the entire world of Atlas and let players engage with new faction story missions and weekly challenges. Additionally, players will be able to expand their roster and play through the new Crimson Moon content with five new pilots, three new starships and eleven new weapons available separately for digital-only purchase.

On top of the free Crimson Moon update on April 30th, Nintendo Switch owners of the game can get more Star Fox awesomeness as $12 DLC.

Take control of the Star Fox team members Peppy, Falco and Slippy in brand-new content coming exclusively to Nintendo Switch. Hunt down the Star Wolf team in a series of missions with the help of three new Star Fox team pilots, each with their own unique special ability and skill tree.

I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am about this. The Star Fox missions were some of the best parts of my Starlink: Battle for Atlas experience, and felt like the modern Star Fox game I’ve wanted for over a decade. Getting more of that seems like a steal for $12.

Between these tow additions, this is an excellent time to come back to the game or jump into it for the first time. Will you be downloading the Crimson Moon update next week?
