I’ve had the great privilege to check out a few of Arcade1Up’s cabinets over the years, and each time I come away impressed with what they’re able to do. While I’m not normally a big sports gamer, I was eager to see if they were able to revitalize the magic of the Blitz series.

Thankfully, they were generous enough to send me one to check out and see if this is something other gamers, or football enthusiasts, would want to find under their Christmas tree this year. Spoiler Alert: it’s pretty great.

Once again, Arcade1Up delivers the goods. The cabinet itself is sleek and impressive looking. Even if you’re not an avid gamer, I could see just about any football fan wanting to have this as part of their game room, or general collection.

Beyond looking sleek and recreating the cabinet in impressive detail (complete with light-up marquee and coin slots), the games themselves play great. The fast-paced action remains smooth and looks great (albeit understandably dated) on the LCD screen. It’s been upscaled nicely and I found the controls super responsive.

I’m very, very terrible at the games, sure, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t have fun! If you’re looking for a gift this holiday season for a retro-gaming fan, arcade collector, or general sports fan, you can’t go wrong with the NFL Blitz Legends cabinet.

Arcade1Up’s NFL Blitz Legends cabinet is available now for $600. Head to their site to learn more and snag your own!
