ROCCAT Reveals Two New RGB Gaming Keyboards Pyro and Magma

ROCCAT‘s 2021 lineup of PC Gaming products just keeps expanding. Last week, the Germany-based PC arm of Turtle Beach Corp. announced the new Kone Pro Series Gaming Mice. Today, they’ve unveiled two cost-effective, eye-catching new RGB Gaming Keyboards, ROCCAT Magma and ROCCAT Pyro.

Both the Magma and Pyro take after ROCCAT‘s Vulcan series of gaming keyboards. In fact, these two new keyboards include a lot of the same features like detachable palm rests and convenient media controls, ROCCAT’s Easy-Shift [+] technology, and the transparent keys to let the AIMO lighting experience really shine through. However, both new products elevate them in their own way.

ROCCAT Magma ($59.99)

Unlike the Vulcan series of Gaming Keyboards that included the RGB lighting in the keys, the ROCCAT Magma Membrane RGB Gaming Keyboard features a fully illuminated top plate. This top plate includes 5 zone lighting with 10 LEDs. The Magma further sets itself apart from the Vulcan by offering a silent experience during keystrokes.

While I adore the Vulcan 122 AIMO one of my biggest complaints when I reviewed the keyboard was how loud the keys were. It appears that ROCCAT has addressed that issue with this new RGB membrane that’s as functional as it is striking.

“With Magma we’re redefining membrane keyboards while pushing the boundaries of keyboard illumination yet again,” said René Korte, ROCCAT Founder and General Manager for PC Peripherals at Turtle Beach. “With the Vulcan series, we had already evolved the RGB experience by mounting transparent key housings to mechanical keyboards. With Magma we made the whole plate transparent to push the AIMO lighting to its full potential. It looks like nothing else out there and it’s affordable for gamers who want to show off their RGB gaming setup.”

ROCCAT Pyro ($99.99)

Of the two new products, the ROCCAT Pyro is the one that reminds me the most of the Vulcan series. It utilizes the same transparent keys for the AIMO Lighting, it’s got a brushed metal plate, and it even includes the volume wheel on the top right like several of the Vulcan keyboards do. It’s very reminiscent of the Vulcan series.

That said, the Pyro has a sleek, more rounded design compared to its predecessor. Also, it features a palm rest the securely fastens to the keyboard itself, as opposed to the magnetic attachment the Vulcan series keyboards sport. Furthermore, the Pyro includes the following features:

Pyro is one of the most feature-packed mechanical gaming keyboards for under $100. The Pyro’s new design is reinforced by a premium brushed metal top plate, offering gamers a sleek, robust, and stylish mechanical keyboard. Pyro uses TTC’s linear (red) switches with a 2.0mm actuation point, 45g operating force, and a total travel distance of 4.0mm for a keystroke that feels both precise and strong. The Pyro’s switches are tested to 50 million keystrokes lifetime for a responsive and durable gaming experience. Advanced anti-ghosting technology also ensures all simultaneously pressed keys are registered.

Both the ROCCAT Magma and ROCCAT Pyro will release on May 30, 2021. The Magma is priced at $59.99 and the Pyro is priced at $99.99. You can pre-order both keyboards now on the ROCCAT website.
