CD Projekt RED hosted their second episode of their content update series for Cyberpunk 2077, Night City Wire. In it, the developers showed off three new parts of the highly-anticipated open-world game: Lifepaths, Tools of Destruction (Weapons), and the Swedish rock band behind Johnny Silverhand‘s band, SAMURAI.
The first new detail revealed revolved around story choice. Players can choose one of three lifepaths when starting Cyberpunk 2077. Nomad, Street Kid, or Corpo.
If you start out as Nomad, your character starts their story outside of Night City. For whatever reason, you’re forced to find a way inside and craziness ensues.
Street Kid is primarily what we’ve seen in game trailers so far. You’ve spent all your life on the streets, you know all the gangs, and you know what they’re dealing.
Corpo characters have climbed the corporate ladder and are working for the Arasaka company. Will you protect the brand or go into business for yourself?
The next part of the Cyberpunk 2077 Night City Wire second episode showed off the incredible arsenal of weapons at your disposal. Some were standard, customizable weaponry. Others were smart weapons that relentlessly tracked down targets for brutal results. Finally, they didn’t just show off gunplay. CD Projekt RED also revealed swordplay with katanas and body mods.
We’re in for a bloody mess when November rolls around!
For the final reveal, CD Projekt RED went behind the music of Cyberpunk 2077. However, this wasn’t just any music. This was Johnny Silverhand‘s (a.k.a. Keanu “Breathtaking” Reeves) music. That’s right, Keanu Reeves also has a band in Cyberpunk 2077, called SAMURAI.
In this new video, the developers revealed that the Swedish band “Refused” will be the voice and music behind SAMURAI. They even treated the fans with a sample of their Cyberpunk 2077 song.
Cyberpunk 2077 releases on November 19, 2020 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. The game will also freely upgrade on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. To watch the full Night City Wire Episode 2, see below.
