Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Goes Old School in Epic Opening Cinematic

The first theme song from the Dragon Ball Z series has just become the theme song for the opening cinematic for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot! Feel the nostalgia and sing Cha-La like it’s 1989! More within…

It’s hard to believe that over 30 years ago Toei Animation first graced Japanese television with the greatness that was Dragon Ball Z. At the time, the debut opening theme was the head-banging, smile-inducing Cha-La Head-Cha-La by Japanese artist Hironobu Kageyama. It was majestic. It was wonderful. It was everything.

As good as it was, naturally Bandai Namco has brought it back to become the official theme song of the Opening Cinematic for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. Check out this immense universe and all the stories you’ll re-live to the tune of Kageyama’s incredible hit with the official Opening Cinematic.

If that didn’t give you goosebumps and you didn’t Cha-la your heart out, you might need to check your pulse. Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot releases on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam on January 17, 2020!
