‘Dragon Quest X Offline’ Launching February 2022 in Japan for PS5, PS4, Switch, and PC

Dragon Quest fans have a lot to look forward to next year as Dragon Quest X Offline is coming to PS5, PS4, Switch, and PC in February of 2022….but there’s a really big catch.

Fans of the main Dragon Quest series have long been frustrated by the fact that no physical copy of Dragon Quest X existed, due to that entry being an online MMORPG game. Well, that will soon cease to be a problem for some fans of Dragon Quest as it was announced today that Dragon Quest X Offline will be launching on February 26, 2022 for PS5, PS4, Switch, and PC. There’s a catch though, and it’s a big one: Dragon Quest X Offline is only releasing in Japan.

This is a real shame as the game bundles look nothing short of amazing, the kind of thing a collector dreams of owning.

For those not familiar, Dragon Quest X is set in the world of Astoltia, with the player character being initially human before an attack by the Lord of Hell Nelgel forces their soul into the body of another race. Following this, they must gather magical gems to seal Nelgel once again, while the player character’s sibling is sent back in time to be safe from Nelgel.

Given that Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age did pretty well in the West, there’s every chance that Dragon Quest X Offline will be localized and released later. But until such time as that happens, it’s nice to look at what will be available in Japan early next year.

What do you think of the upcoming physical release of Dragon Quest X Offline?
