Yesterday EA announced their plans for an E3 2014 preview show that will be live streamed in a few places (details on that will be given below), but they didn’t say what would be discussed. Fortunately, we live in an age of the internet, and executives from the company revealed that Star Wars: Battlefront would be discussed during the show. This should come as a relief to fans who haven’t heard much of anything on the project since last year’s awesome teaser announcement.
While the game is still a year away from release (projected for 2015) that doesn’t mean they can’t blow our minds with something at this year’s event. I’m hoping for another, longer, trailer with maybe some gameplay thrown in.
On top of that, we also know (thanks to SpikeTV’s Geoff Keighley) that EA will also be revealing six new video games during thier presentation. Obviously we don’t know anyting about these, but I’m also hoping one of those games will be Star Wars related. We know they have a few studios working on Star Wars games, but so far only one has been announced. E3 seems like a great time (especially with all the other Star Wars stuff going on right now) to show off what EA has in store for the Star Wars franchise, since it’s been about a year and a half since it was announced they were going to be the exclusive game makers for Star Wars.
Amy Hennig and Visceral Games are hard at work on a new Star Wars title, and I for one am hoping to hear what it is. Obviously I’m not expecting a full trailer or anything, but a title or something would be amazing. Just knowing what they’re working on in the Star Wars universe would be pretty exciting. I guess we’ll have to wait and see, EA’s event will be on June 9th and you can stream is live from a few places. Here are the details:
