EA Sports News Recap: FIFA 17 Gets Powered by Frostbite, Madden 17 Gets New Voices

Football has changed is the theme in this article as, earlier this week, EA Sports announced two big changes for their two brands of Football.  First, the original football (or futbol), FIFA 17 announced that they have updated their engine with a powerful new one called Frostbite.

The trailer they released with it doesn’t show too much of the actual gameplay, but from what we can see it looks like they’ve tailored made it to show off how realistic it will look.  Nevertheless, EA Sports is pretty pumped about the update.

“Frostbite unlocks a whole new world of possibilities for the FIFA franchise and its fans,” said David Rutter, VP and Executive Producer. “We have never been as excited as we are today about the future of football and the experiences we are going to deliver in FIFA 17.”

They also announced that James Rodriguez of Real Madrid C.F., Anthony Martial of Manchester United, Eden Hazard of Chelsea FC, and Marco Reus of Borussia Dortmund have been named FIFA 17 Ambassadors. That mainly means that they helped develop the game with their superior football skills.

Moving on to the American counterpart, The NFL, Madden NFL 17 has announced that Jim Nance and Phil Simms will not be commentating in the next version of Madden.  Mainly because there is only so many times you can here them bash each other about their golf game.

Instead, EA Sports has hired lead college football play-by-play announcer from Westwood One Brandon Gaudin and NFL Network and College Football Analyst Charles Davis to be the new voices for Madden NFL 17.

I’ve always enjoyed Charles Davis on NFL Network and his analysis in College Football games is usually spot on.  As for Gaudin, I welcome him as the new play-by-play announcer.  He’s been a seasoned professional for a few years now.  It is interesting to note, though, that they hired to college football guys to voice Madden NFL 17.  Very interesting, indeed.

Change can be good and it sounds like the changes at EA Sports are going to be for the better.  You can hear Gaudin and Davis when Madden NFL 17 hits stores August 23, 2016.  You can experience the whole new system of FIFA 17 on September 27, 2016.
