Extended Trailer for ‘Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade’ Shows Off Updated Lighting and Fog Effects

About a month ago, the PS5 version of Final Fantasy VII Remake main evented Sony’s State of Play event. At that time, they showed off a few new and updated features coming to the PS5 version titled, Intergrade. Today, Square Enix revealed a bit more with an extended look at Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade.

While some of the footage shown was the same as what we saw a month ago, this extended trailer gave us a better look at the optimized lighting, textures, and fog effects the most. I usually am not a fan of the side-by-side type comparison videos but in this case I could see noticeable differences. I never realized how dark FF7R was on PS4 and how smoky the fog looked. The optimized version of PlayStation 5 looks crisper and cleaner.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade will feature optimized, graphics, lighting, textures, fog effects, and faster loading screens. Players will also be able to choose between playing “Graphics Mode” which prioritizes 4K high-resolution graphics or “Performance Mode” which will prioritize 60 frames per second. Additionally, there will be a new episode featuring Yuffie, sold separately.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is free for players who currently on the game on PlayStation 4. All save files can be transferred to PS5. However, there’s no word if it’s as cumbersome as what we saw recently with Avengers on PS5. Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade launches June 10, 2021.
