The first trailer for what would be the first confirmed PlayStation 5 title has been revealed. Gearbox took to The Game Awards to show off the reveal trailer for their Looter-Slasher, Godfall. More within…
The Game Awards 2019 was one of the more unpredictable awards shows you’ll ever see. Between every award was a new reveal for a game or system that no one could’ve known was coming. While Xbox and their Xbox Series X dominated headlines over their reveal, Sony and Gearbox had a shocking announcement of their own.
Instead of going tit for tat with Microsoft, Sony decided to keep their PlayStation 5 under wraps a bit longer. However, they still had an ace up their sleeve. That ace would become the looter-slasher game by Counterplay Games and Gearbox Publishing, Godfall.
Godfall will be a 3rd person action RPG that’s playable as a solo game or 3-player co-op, at the gamer’s discretion. Counterplay also stated that Godfall is set in a “bright fantasy universe”. Although, from the trailer you may not have guessed it. For now, they’re keeping further details under wraps, but with a year until release, expect more details to come soon.
With a release date of Holiday 2020, Godfall falls right in line with the launch window for the highly-anticipated 5th PlayStation. It’s also worth noting that Godfall will not be a PS5 exclusive. It will also release on PC, via the Epic Games Store.
Stay tuned for more on Godfall and the PlayStation 5.
