Gollum Melts Orcs in the New Cinematic Trailer for ‘The Lord of the Rings: Gollum’

Nacon provided a new look at their upcoming stealth-action game, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum at the Game Awards 2021. The cinematic trailer revealed exposes players to Gollum’s split personality disorder and his desire to do anything for the one ring, a.k.a. his “precious”.

The Lord of the Rings™: Gollum™ is a story-driven action-adventure, where players take on the role of Gollum to win back his precious lost ring. They have to climb, jump and sneak through dangerous areas, avoid getting caught and try to keep the upper hand. Gollum is skillful and sly, but also torn by his split personality. It is up to you to decide whether the darker side of Gollum takes over or if there is a spark of reason left in what once was Sméagol.

I’m so thrilled that this game is on the way. On top of being a big ol’ shill for The Lord of the Rings, I’ve always found Gollum to be one of the most intriguing characters of the entire series. Having a game that allows us to uncover the mysteries behind him and expose us to some of his fascinating adventures is just so freaking cool. Plus, I mean…he melts orcs…who doesn’t want to do that?

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is set to launch in 2022 for PC, PlayStation®4, PlayStation®5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
