IO Interactive Brings Hitman 1 Levels to Hitman 2’s World of Assassination

In 2016, Square Enix and IO Interactive blew fans away with their episodic approach to the Hitman series.  Since that time, IO’s Hitman series packed their bags and moved their stealth game over to Warner Bros. Home Interactive to publish the next chapter in this new Hitman era, with Hitman 2.  When news broke that the Hitman series would be handed off to WBHI, it was fair to assume that everything under the Square Enix brand wouldn’t be going with Hitman 2.  Fortunately, IO gave everyone a pleasant surprise with the ever-expanding World of Assassination and the reveal that announced the Hitman Legacy Pack, a DLC that brings all the cities from Hitman 1 to Hitman 2!

The Hitman Legacy Pack brings back all six locations (Paris, Sapienza, Marrakesh, Bangkok, Colorado and Hokkaido) to Hitman 2 and incorporates every new feature from Hitman 2. Like a brand new progression system, addition of hiding in foliage and crowds displayed at improved fidelity, picture-in-picture mode, strategic use of mirrors, improved combat A.I., new gameplay items like the briefcase, dart gun, flash grenades, etc., new difficulty levels, and much more!

As an added bonus, if you owned Season 1 of Hitman, the Hitman Legacy Pack will actually be free for you. Meaning, you won’t have to repurchase old levels, which is pretty amazing!

“We have been through an amazing journey with our fans and community and are extremely proud of the continued love and support,” said Hakan Abrak, CEO, IO Interactive. “This is our way to say a big thank you and give something back. We have finally revealed our long-term vision to deliver the World of Assassination, an ever-expanding continuous universe starting from Paris in Season 1, going all the way through to the end of HITMAN 2 and beyond with our future endeavors. To create a universe like this is not only an ambitious task creatively, but also technically. I am in awe and admiration with our incredibly talented team and what they have achieved.”

IO Interactive is thrilled about the prospect of Hitman 2, and it looks like we should too when it releases on Playstation 4 (Pro), Xbox One (X), and PC on November 13, 2018!
