Devs Release Cheat to Bypass KOTOR II Switch Bug

LucasFilm Games

A number Nintendo Switch players are finding themselves unable to finish Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II and developers released a temporary fix: a cheat.

Players are reportedly having their game crash after the Basilisk Crash cutscene when landing on Onderon, developers said. The bug will be addressed in the next game patch.

The bug is “only affecting a small number of users,”  Axios reporter Stephen Totilo reported Wednesday.

The temporary fix was posted to the KOTOR II Aspyr Support page.

“For now, our suggested workaround is to warp past the point where the game crashes using the cheats menu. To do so, triple click the left thumbstick, open the cheats menu, select warp, and warp to OND504. Make sure not to head to the merchant quarter, as your game will crash,” the support page reads. “We are continuing to investigate this issue and will update this article with any new information and patch dates as we get them. You can click the “follow” button at the top of this article if you would like to be notified when we make any changes.”

KOTOR II released on the Nintendo Switch on June 8.
