For the last 8 years, we’ve witnessed one player dominate the NBA in ways we hadn’t seen since the Michael Jordan days. Since he was drafted first overall in 2003, LeBron James has been the man in the NBA. Nay, he has been the King of the NBA. There are some who may dispute his claim, but you can’t deny that 8 straight finals with two completely different teams makes you worthy of calling yourself King. While this year’s Finals appearance may not pan out well for the Akron-native, he still gets to add another accolade to his illustrious legacy, being the NBA 2K19 20th Anniversary Edition cover athlete!
The debate over whether LeBron James or Michael Jordan as the G.O.A.T. has been raging for several years now and, while the world seems to be split, you have to appreciate what both have accomplished. Both were dominant forces in their time. Both were the best players on the court. Granted, Jordan did it at a time where there were less rules, but he didn’t do it with multiple teams. All of Jordan’s greatest achievements came in Chicago, unless you count the time he saved the world from the MonStars. For LeBron, he conquered the court with two different teams. You could say that he played in a weak Eastern conference, which is true, but he was still always the best player on the court. So, there may never be a resolution to the debate, but give credit where its due, both are generational talents that we should appreciate witnessing.
NBA 2K19 20th Anniversary Edition does not have an official release date yet (unofficially it’s September 7), but stay tuned and we’ll have it for you as soon as it’s confirmed! Pre-order is now available.
