Legendaries Revealed For Pokemon Sun/Moon

The new Legendaries are called Solgaleo and Lunala, and the Pokemon Company noted that each will play a vital role in the story.

Solgaleo is of course the Sun Legendary and the special attack is titled Sunsteel Strike. This attack is a charge at the enemy with the force of a meteor. Main genre: Psychic/Steel

“Honored as an emissary of the sun since ancient times, Solgaleo is referred to with reverence as ‘the beast that devours the sun.’ Solgaleo’s body holds a vast amount of energy, and it shines with light when it is active. It has a flowing mane with a remarkable resemblance to the sun.

Lunala, the Moon Legendary, will have a move titled Moongeist Beam. The beam is a powerful wave of light shot at the enemy pokemon. Main genre: Psychic/Ghost

“Since ancient times, Lunala has been honored as an emissary of the moon. Referred to with reverence as ‘the beast that calls the moon,’ Lunala is constantly absorbing light and converting it into energy. With its wings spread to absorb the surrounding light and glittering like the crescent moon, it resembles a beautiful night sky.

Other details were also revealed including the Alola region where the game takes place. The region is a 4 islands and one artificial island. The story takes place when your character moves to the island. You can choose to be male or female and customize many things about the character, including name.

“Professor Kukui is the Alola region’s Pokemon professor. The professor is passionate about his research into Pokemon moves and has sometimes taken direct hits from Pokemon if there was something to be learned from it,” The Pokemon Company stated.

They also noted that while the professor wears a white lab coat, he also has his own unique style. A “mysterious girl” named Lillie will be by his side and play a big role in the story. She doesn’t like the idea of Pokemon fighting, but seems rather smart.

The company also revealed that the game will support QR codes to allow you to scan codes to collect pokemon.

The game will be featured at Nintendo’s Treehouse Live event during E3 later this month.
