The Game Awards 2016 was meant to be a night for honoring 2016’s best games with awards. It turned into a of celebrating the games to come. Just before The Game Awards 2016 crowned Overwatch as 2016’s Game of the Year and let the curtain fall on the ceremony, Bioware took the stage to unveil the first gameplay trailer for their highly-anticipated game, Mass Effect: Andromeda!
Mass Effect: Andromeda puts you in the role of the Pathfinder; an elite soldier, explorer and guide tasked with finding humanity a new home an uncharted galaxy. From arresting visuals and thrilling combat, to epic story and characters, Mass Effect: Andromeda is truly the next generation of Action/RPG gaming.
Out of the small sample size of ME:A trailers we’ve seen, this gameplay trailer is easily the best. The near 5-minute trailer explains how vast Andromeda is, with each planet having its own problems and unique story, much like the Mass Effect games from before. Andromeda also includes updated combat mechanics that include cinematic deaths, you just have to see.
EA/Bioware has kept Mass Effect: Andromeda pretty close to the vest, since it was announced a little over a year ago. As we’ve inched closer to 2017, they’ve revealed shorts here and there, including an actual trailer on N7 Day. We can expect more trailers and videos to come next year, but don’t be surprised if they continue to keep the game under wraps until Mass Effect: Andromeda releases Spring 2017.
What do you think of the gameplay trailer? Are you as excited as we are?
