Disney is building a new expansion to their park for Star Wars and I’m not sure who isn’t excited for that. Yet other theme parks need to keep up and innovate in their own ways too. California’s Great America is doing just that with Mass Effect.
The franchise is heading to the park in a new 4D adventure experience. The park is teaming up with EA to create a first of its kind experience combining live performers, special effects and “4D effects.” The “4D Hologram” experience is set to open in 2016 in the Action adventure section of the park.
“guests will be taken on a thrilling adventure across the galaxy where they will travel through awe-inspiring landscapes, face off against bigger-than-life adversaries and ultimately help save the day.”
“This combination of technology and creative video game content is sure to usher in a new wave of entertainment innovation at amusement parks.”
I personally have never been to the park, but they got my interest and I’ll be sure to check this out!
This also isn’t the first time video games have expanding into parks. Recently Capcom had Six Flags re-theme one of their roller coasters for Monster Hunter, and Ubisoft has announced a full theme park set to open in 2020. We want to know, what video game franchise would you love to see become real life? Would you dig a PlayStation or Xbox style theme park?
