New details released by EA showcase that the beta file size will be 7GB on PS4 and Xbox One. PC will be slightly larger at 11GB. That is not the only difference either as pre-loading the game will be ready for the PC version, while Xbox One and PS4 will not have the option. (PC users can pre-load the game via Origin starting October 7th)
The level cap for the beta will be level 5. Once you hit the cap you will not progress to further levels, but you will still be able to unlock new items. (Final level cap in the game has not been revealed.) Your unlock and level will not carry forward to the final game, at all.
The Star Wars Battlefront beta starts October 8 and runs through the 12th. It is entirely open to everyone and the game does not need to be pre-ordered for “early access” or anything of that nature. Thankfully. EA has stated that the test is an actual test for server strength and mechanics, so there may be interruptions during play.
EA also provided a list of descriptions for each mode in the beta.
Walker Assault on Hoth: Fight in epic 40-player battles as a Rebel to destroy the Empire’s onslaught of AT-ATs by calling in Y-wing bombers. Or, side with the Empire and protect your walkers while utilizing their mighty weaponry to crush the Rebel objective.
- Drop Zone on Sullust: Escape pods are crashing down and you and your team must fight to control them. With its frantic 8v8 matches, Drop Zone is sure to put your combat and strategy skills to the test.
Survival Mission on Tatooine: Play alone or with a friend via co-op or split-screen as you battle to hold off waves of Imperial forces including AT-ST’s, TIE fighters, elite Stormtroopers, and more.
The game releases November 17th, but EA Access members can play it 5 days early!
