NBA Playgrounds 2 Has Been Announced; Arriving Later this Year

It wasn’t all that long ago that NBA Playgrounds released on Nintendo Switch, along with a pre-order of Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn.  Now, new fans of the cartoonish basketball game will get to enjoy a brand new game, as Saber Interactive has announced that they’re developing a sequel to NBA Playgrounds they plan on releasing later this year.

NBA Playgrounds 2 boasts a giant roster of over 200 current and retired NBA athletes likeincluding Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, James Harden, Kyrie Irving, LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Anthony Davis, DeMar DeRozan, Damian Lillard, Karl-Anthony Towns, Shaquille O’Neal, Magic Johnson, Dr. J., Allen Iverson and Larry Bird.  Plus, Saber is promising new character models, moves, power-ups, and an improved AI.

Furthermore, the NBA Playgrounds sequel is set to include brand new online and local multiplayer modes so gamers get a better, more competitive experience.  

  • Playgrounds Championship  mode introduces a new worldwide ranked league system, featuring multiple competitive solo and co-op division ladders for players to climb.
  • Season mode is a new single-player experience that recreates the feeling of leading a team through the regular season, playoffs, and, ultimately, the NBA Championship itself.
  • Improved matchmaking with dedicated servers, the arrival of four-player online matches, the return of three-point contests, custom matches, and more – pick your team and play without limits!

NBA Playgrounds 2 will hit shelves later this year on Playstation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC!
