When Bungie and Activision let it be known that their plans for Destiny 2: Forsaken would include the death of Cayde-6 (Nathan Fillion), the fandom of Guardians was understandably beside themselves. Heck, I was among them. However, since that announcement, Activision and Bungie have made it their mission to make Cayde-6 go out in style. The latest trailer from GamesCom 2018 only serves to strengthen that narrative, as Cayde-6 shows why he’s the baddest Hunter in the galaxy, against the occupants of the Prison of Elders.
This is Destiny 2: Forsaken – The Last Stand of the Gunslinger. (Disclaimer: If you don’t want to see this until Forsaken releases on September 4, thank you for visiting, but kindly scroll down to the bottom of the article to find out when the 24-hour Gambit trial will take place.)
Destiny 2: Forsaken opens with an explosive jailbreak in the Prison of Elders. As the most notorious outlaws in the system escape their confines, the only thing standing between them and our home is you and Cayde-6, the most legendary Hunter sworn to protect the City.
That’s a heck of a way to go out, for sure. Switching gears, though, currently Europe’s Guardians attending GamesCom 2018 are having the opportunity to check out Forsaken‘s new PvP-PvE hybrid Gambit. While that may disappoint those of us who are unable to attend, Bungie and Activision have GREAT news! On Saturday September 1, 2018 from 10am PT to September 2 at 10am PT, Destiny 2 owners on PlayStation 4, the Xbox One family of devices, including Xbox One X, and PC (Battle.net) can get their fill of the incredible new multiplayer game, Gambit, during the Gambit 24-hour Free Trial!
Destiny 2: Forsaken releases September 4, 2018 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC!
