New Final Fantasy VII Remake Trailer, Gameplay Details, and Collector’s Edition Revealed

The Square Enix Live E3 2019 Press Conference opened up with one of their most highly-anticipated titles, Final Fantasy VII Remake, and it did not disappoint.  Check out the trailer and full gameplay details here.

Last night at the Final Fantasy VII concert, Square Enix gave us just a taste of what’s to come in Final Fantasy VII Remake, with a brief trailer.  At their Square Enix Live E3 2019 Presentation, they showed off more.  SO. MUCH. MORE.

Final Fantasy VII Remake will feature a gameplay system that combines Real-Time Strategy with the classic Turn-Based mechanics we grew up playing.  Using the ADP meter, Cloud & co. will be able to stop time, mid-battle, to decide what move they’d like to perform.  Whether it be magic, a devastating special move, or a limit break, everything is at your fingertips when time stops.  Square Enix also allowed players the opportunity to play a more fast-paced style by using shortcuts and not stopping time.

One of the biggest questions surrounding Final Fantasy VII Remake was if/how we’d be able to switch between characters.  Square Enix quickly let it be known that switching characters was as easy as pressing a button.  They even showed it off with an extensive gameplay overview.

The last announcement they gave for Final Fantasy VII Remake was how many editions will be releasing.

  • Standard edition (Game only)
  • Deluxe Edition ($79.99) available to pre-order now, contains a hardback art book featuring stunning concept art, a Mini-Soundtrack CD, Summon Materia DLC allowing players to summon Cactuar in game, and a Sephiroth SteelBook® Case. The Digital Deluxe Edition contains a digital art book, a digital Mini-Soundtrack, and Summon Materia DLC allowing players to summon Carbuncle and Cactuar in game.
  • The 1st Class Edition ($329.99) includes all Deluxe Edition content, the Carbuncle Summon Materia DLC, as well as a Play Arts Kai Cloud Strife and Hardy Daytona box set (bundled separately), which is available to pre-order in limited quantities from the SQUARE ENIX Store.

All editions of Final Fantasy VII Remake release on PlayStation 4 on March 3, 2020.
