New Metroid Dread Teaser Previews Ancient Egypt-themed Lore of New Planet

We’re still a few months away from Samus’ grand return to the Nintendo Switch with the 2D styled Metroid Dread. However, there’s still so much we don’t know about the game and the new planet Samus will be exploring.

Today, Nintendo Japan gave Metroid fans a brief history behind this new planet with a new teaser. It seems to be deep rooted in what we know of as Ancient Egyptian mythology with hieroglyphs of Gods and their subjects, including one Samus appears to interact with.

I am so excited to see the Metroid series go back to its roots with Metroid Dread. It looks intense, fascinating, and all around like the Metroid franchise is finally returning to its former glory. That said, I’m very intrigued by the red hand at the end of the teaser. Will there be a new power for Samus?

We’ll surely find out when Metroid Dread releases on Nintendo Switch on October 8, 2021.
