Nintendo Adds WWE’s Bayley; Releases More Info for the Nintendo World Championships

“Heeeey, we want some Bayley!”

Well, the Nintendo World Championships 2017 is about to get WWE‘s resident hugger, as Bayley joins the ranks of gamers vying for a chance at winning the Nintendo competition!  The former RAW and NXT Women’s Champion joins 7 other players who were invited to contend with the 16 who qualified, via the seven regional qualifiers.

Two of the big name players in this tournament, other than Bayley, are invited player Asa Butterfield (Actor and Super Smash Bros. Tournament player) and the reigning Nintendo World Champion John Numbers, who went through the qualifying process.

These players will all be traveling to New York to compete against each other when the Nintendo World Championships 2017 continue on October 17, 2017.  While a few of the games aren’t known just yet, we do know that the recently released Metroid: Samus Returns game for Nintendo 3DS will be one of the games competed over.

The event will be hosted by Andrea Rene, with play-by-play by Jordan Kent.  You’ll be able to stream it by clicking here, starting at 5 p.m. ET/2 p.m. PT on October 7 from the Manhattan Center’s Grand Ballroom.
