Original Turok Arrives on Nintendo Switch Today

Get ready to hunt like it’s 1997!  Turok: The Dinosaur Hunter has officially been ported to Nintendo Switch, courtesy of Nightdive Studios.  Back in 1997, Turok was released under development Iguana Entertainment and Acclaim, but it’s been Nightdive Studios who have been finding ways to revive Turok on current consoles over the last few years.  The latest, of which, on Nintendo Switch in all its glorious, original splendor.

Just take a look at a few of the stills to re-live all of the pixelated dino destruction:

Nintendo has started to make a habit of re-releasing classic games, in their original form, on Nintendo Switch, as of late.  Not long ago, it was Final Fantasy IX and just next week it will be Final Fantasy VII making its way to Switch.  With Turok, this brings one of many sought-after Nintendo 64 titles to the Nintendo Switch.  With Nintendo’s recent nostalgia trip, one has to wonder if this opens the door to further Nintendo 64 ports.  If so, which Nintendo 64 title would you want to see on Nintendo Switch?

Turok is available now on Nintendo Switch for $19.99.  To read more on Turok on Nintendo Switch, see below:

The Lost Land…

A world where time has no meaning – and evil knows no bounds. Torn from a world long gone, the time traveling warrior Turok has found himself thrust into a savage land torn by conflict. An evil overlord known as ‘The Campaigner’ seeks to shred the fabric of time and rule the universe using an ancient artifact known as ‘The Chronoscepter’. The Chronoscepter was shattered thousands of years ago in an effort to keep it from falling into evil hands. The Campaigner has constructed a massive focusing array which he plans to use to magnify and pervert the power of the Chronoscepter in order to shatter the barriers between the ages and rule the universe. Turok has vowed to find the eight pieces of the Chronoscepter spread throughout the Lost Land and put an end to The Campaigner’s evil plot…
