Earlier this month, we reported that Alien: Blackout (a standalone title and not a sequel to Alien: Isolation) would make its way to your mobile phones, thanks to FoxNext Games and D3 Go!, later this year. It was also announced, at that time, that Amanda Ripley would be returning to bring down yet another Xenomorph stowaway. With the release of said game, the developers have decided to release a launch trailer that reveals how you’ll need some quick-thinking and master-class stealth skills to save the crew of the Weyland-Yutani space station and eliminate one of the fiercest creatures in movie and video game-kind.
In Alien: Blackout, players assume the role of Amanda Ripley, trapped aboard a crippled Weyland-Yutani space station carrying a blood-thirsty Xenomorph. Players will need to survive increasingly challenging, fear-inducing levels and outsmart the ever-adapting Xenomorph. Players must skillfully guide the crew to safety by balancing the controls of the space station’s emergency systems with the limited emergency power to open doors, activate motion trackers and monitor surveillance cameras to avoid encounters with the enemy. Players will be forced to make life or death decisions in order to complete missions, and can test different strategies and theories to outlast the Xenomorph in pursuit of victory.
Alien: Blackout is available now for $4.99 on the App Store, Google Play and the Amazon Appstore.
If console games and PC are more of your speed, FoxNext revealed exciting news, along with this trailer. Their studio Cold Iron Studios is currently developing a massively multiplayer online shooter set in the Alien cinematic universe. As more news on that is released, we’ll have it for you here.
