Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake isn’t Coming Any Time Soon

Today brings yet another development update for The Sands of Time remake, and it’s clear we aren’t getting it soon.

I’ve been over the moon, hyped for the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake since it was first officially revealed (and even before when it leaked) back in 2020. Since then, however, the game has been hit with a number of delays, to the point of Ubisoft not even giving it new release dates.

The last update we got was in October of last year, and that was just to let players know it was still happening! As such, you’d hope the latest update would give a clearer picture of where things are, and maybe even hope for a new release date.

Well too bad. Today, Ubisoft has announced development on the remake is switching developers entirely, going from Ubisoft Mumbai to Ubisoft Montreal. That’s not a great indicator that things were on track. While they don’t specifically mention a “delay”, the wording of “take the time they need” makes it clear it’s not happening in the near future.

Alas…
