Rainbow Mika last appeared in the series in 1998 via Street Fighter 3 Alpha and hasn’t appeared since. Today she joins the growing list of characters on the roster of Street Fighter V.
“As a flamboyant young wrestler, Mika dreamed of one day becoming a star in the ring, much like her idol Zangief,” Capcom stated. “Training under the strict tutelage of her coach, she traveled the world engaging in random matches with street fighters in order to spread her name and popularity.”
The character will have a lot of high flying moves including calling in a partner Nadeshiko, which will allow you to create sneak attacks and combo’s. Mika’s skill is a “mic performance” which allows her to take out a microphone and give a speech to the crowd. While giving the speech you hold the buttons down and the longer you hold them down, the tougher her throws become. Mika can absorb one hit while giving a speech, or cancel the speech and throw the mic at the oppnent.
Players can also get an early test play of the character at PAX.
Attendees at PAX Prime (Seattle, WA) this weekend (August 28-31) will have the opportunity to grapple with R. Mika in a brand new playable demo available at the Capcom Booth #3103. The PAX event demo will also include the other previously-announced new and returning challengers, Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Cammy, Vega, M. Bison, Birdie, Charlie Nash, and Necalli.
