For the last several years, Toys for Bob has spared no expense to give fans of Spyro, the best remastered experience of the beloved trilogy. That included new art direction, updated gameplay, and remastered sound. That is, if you want it.
At SDCC 2018, Toys for Bob introduced a new feature for Spyro Reignited Trilogy that will allow fans to seamlessly switch between the nostalgic soundtrack Stewart Copeland composed 20 years ago or the scaled up remastered version. By simply going to the options screen, you can select either or without losing or having to save before hand. It’s one of the many perfect ways TfB has paid homage to the 20 year classic.
Another way they’ve updated the trlogy, is with an integral piece from the past. While developing the game, Toys for Bob called up Copeland and asked him to put together a new main theme for the Spyro Reignited Trilogy. Copeland was overjoyed by the idea, and had this to say about it…
“Creating new music for the Spyro Reignited Trilogy has been incredibly fun and nostalgic for me,” said Stewart Copeland, acclaimed musician (The Police), film score writer and composer. “Seeing how the fans loved the original series and soundtrack was a very heart-warming experience 20 years ago, and being able to revisit that fun with the new game has brought things full circle. I can’t wait for players to hear the new intro title track and enjoy the option to play the remastered game to my original music when the trilogy arrives this fall. ‘Tiger Train’ includes some of my favorite themes from the original soundtrack, which I’m sure the Spyro faithful will appreciate!”
