Skybound Cuts Ties With StarBreeze,OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead Didnt Meet Company Standards

So, it finally happened like we knew it would…Skybound Entertainment released a statement today terminating their contract with Starbreeze Studios. After the cancellation of the console version of OverKill’s The Walking Dead and the very poor performance and reviews of the PC version, I think we can all admit we saw this coming.

The Skybound team had this to say. “Our creators and their stories are the core of Skybound, and since 2014 we have worked hard to expand the world of The Walking Dead into an exceptional Co-op Action FPS. We did our best to work with Starbreeze and resolve many issues that we saw with the game, but ultimately OVERKILL’S THE WALKING DEAD did not meet our standards nor is it the quality that we were promised.”

There is some good news though, the team team did go one to say that they will “continue to look for alternative video game options for the IP”, which means the company is not giving up hope on creating a video game experiance that all gamers will love. Although it is a tough pill to swallow, I do beleive we are all on the side of Skybound Games when it comes to getting a quality experiance in our video games today. This is 2018, with game prices at what they are and technology being what it is, I really dont think there is an excuse for this type of poor development in a game, espically when you have a studio like Skybound backing you.
