Today’s Ubisoft earnings call had a deflating twist, as the publishing company announced that their long-awaited South Park sequel has been delayed, again. Previously, the game was supposed to debut during Holiday 2016. Ubi later announced a Spring 2017 date. Now, they’re mum on when South Park: The Fractured But Whole will release.
The current plan for the sequel to The Stick of Truth is for the game to come out in the next fiscal year. Unfortunately, the vagueness only gets worse as that means it could be anywhere from April 1, 2017 to March 31, 2018.
While the first delay had a developmental reason behind it, Ubisoft has yet to release a statement in regards to this delay. Regardless of the reason, it’s an unfortunate turn of events for what has become one of the most highly-anticipated games for 2017. Now, it might become one of the most highly-anticipated games for 2018, pending announcement.
As Ubisoft releases more information for South Park: The Fractured But Whole, we’ll have it here on Cinelinx.
